Advertising in a recession

December 7, 2008 By Brad Linder Leave a Comment

I spent the past week trying to answer the question: How do you advertise during a recession? At a time when consumer spending is down, advertisers trying to promote big ticket items like cars or jewelry face unique challenges.

I interviewed an auto dealer, a marketing expert, and the vice president of one of Philadelphia’s largest advertising agencies. My story runs this afternoon on Weekend All Things Considered from NPR. The audio should be available online soon.
