The Belkin GoStudio is an add-on for an iPod that turns the digital music player into a high quality digital audio recorder. In a nutshell, the GoStudio adds high quality preamps and combo XLR/quarter-inch microphone inputs as well as a 3.5mm mini-mic. There are even built in stereo mics for recordign if you don’t happen to have an external mic handy. The device can handle 16 bit, 44.1kHz audio, which is pretty much the quality that most standard CDs are recorded at.
The add-on is designed to work with the iPod Classic, iPod 5G, or the iPod Nano 2 or 3G.
The GoStudio was first announced in January, but back then Belkin was calling it the Podcast Studio. Belkin also promised it would be available by June. Now the company says it should be out by September or October. The GoStudio will be available for abou $120 in North America, EMEA, Asia, and Australia.
