Yahoo meta-journalism – online profiles of online personalities

June 2, 2007 By Brad Linder 1 Comment

Yahoo! has launched a new project called “People of the Web,” hosted by online journalist Kevin Sites. The goal of the project is to look at the people behind the websites and blogs. There are already several profiles on the site, looking at Josh Wolf, Kirk Cameron, and other folks who are making a difference through the web.

The stories are well constructed pieces of journalism. But it’s a bit funny to see them posted online. Essentially Sites and Yahoo! are using new media journalism to tell the story of how new media is changing journalism.

I think this has a lot of potential especially if localized versions can come out.
