The Mid-Americana podcast is a series exploring the history and identity of the Midwest region through the stories of people in the region.
Season one is titled “Homecoming,” and features the stories of eight native Iowans who moved away from the Midwest and then came back to stay.
The first two episodes were released on October 23rd, 2019 and include interviews with:
- Mike Draper, founder of the irreverent T-shirt company Raygun
- Dawn Martinez Oropeza, executive director of Al Exito, an organization that works with middle and high school-aged Latinos in Iowa
New episodes will be released every two weeks.
And I’ve had the pleasure of working as the show’s sound engineer, which means I edit and mix the audio and assist with other elements of podcast production.
