Fact is that after upgrading (upload 3.1 firmware to SD via USB –> accept offer to execute –> wait device within 2 hours to restart, but it didn't happened –> retrieve battery and mount it again) Marantz PMD 620 is not switching on. Pls. advice what to do on this issue.

No latency problem from the little I tried it after firmware upgrade. I assume there are other updates in this firmware, but Marantz does not easily provide a lot of what it does.

I had just bought the PMD 620 based on what I read and had not even used it yet. But then I saw all the latency issues being discussed. I was concerned I made the wrong purchase decision. I am impressed with the unit using the internal mics, but extremely impressed when I used the Rode NTG-2 in terms of clarity. I feel much better about my purchase now.

So far the poorest feature I see is the built-in speaker. Not very clear…. but it at least lets you know you recorded and what it sounds like.

Called Marantz who told me to call a service center (out of Warranty). Cost to replace ROM: $390 🙁
